Welcome to our weekly newsletter which will contain dates for the diary, updates on what the children have been enjoying during the week, reminders and any additional information to keep parents in the loop.
Firstly, a big welcome back to you all and welcome to all our new children and families, it’s lovely to see everyone’s smiles and enthusiasm to start a new year and hopefully this year will be a more settled one. All the staff here at Headstart are very proud of all the children and how they have started the year, happy, settled, and eager to explore the setting and make new friends.
This week we have had lots of fun, exploring our setting, surroundings and the gardens, we’ve told our friends what we have enjoyed in the summer holidays, we’ve sang songs, drawn pictures, built train tracks, burnt off our energy in the soft play, decorated biscuits of ourselves, some of us have 4 eyes 😊 we have enjoyed planting some sunflowers, we are hoping these will grow very tall just like us.
Our main theme this half term is ‘All about me’ as we are all new to each other, this is a good way of learning about ourselves and others, we will be doing lots of activities such as drawing and making portraits, talking about our families, our likes and dislikes and asking questions to others, we have sent out an activity for you to fill in with your child at home so we can all learn more about each other.
Please can you ensure all children attend their session with spare clothes as we do enjoy playing with water and exploring outside in all weathers, also for any accidents that may occur, please ensure all clothes are labelled with your child’s name so we can ensure all items are returned to the right owners.
As the weather is so unpredictable, please also ensure children attend their session with sun cream applied prior to starting, for children staying all day we will reapply at lunch time for the afternoon session, sun hats are also required for sunny days and wellies for wet days.
We are looking forward to more fun next week and meeting more of our new friends and families, if you need to speak to any of us, there is always someone outside of the gate at the start and end of each session to discuss any queries you have, you can also ring or email the setting and arrange to speak to your child’s
key worker at any time.
Brayton Headstart is a NUT FREE setting. Can we refrain from putting anything containing nuts in pack ups, including chocolate spread and peanut butter.
Many Thanks, Brayton Headstart
